Oatmeal Sandwich Bread

The yeast was not dead after all! Or even if it was “only mostly dead,” it was alive enough to produce…

…a lovely, if slightly misshapen, loaf of Oatmeal Sandwich Bread, a la Good to the Grain. As with all yeast breads, the preparation is done in stages with time to rest/rise in between; I believe there were 2 1/2 hours of rising time before the bread went into the oven, and then it baked for 40 minutes. All the prep just ensures that you savor every slice!
