Pear, figs, goat cheese, GO.

I’m not sure if this is a salad or a dessert or what, but it’s delicious.

1 firm/ripe pear
4-6 Calimyrna figs
~2 tsp. crumbled goat cheese

This tastes best if the pear and figs are at room temperature. Wash the pear and cut it into smallish (1/2″), bite-size pieces. Slice off the tough tops and bottoms of the figs, then cut them in half and cut the halves in half (so you end up with four bite-size pieces for each fig). Crumble the goat cheese over the fig and pear, toss, and consume. YUM.

I kind of made this up as I went, though I’m sure there are dozens of variations online, and I must have gotten the idea from some restaurant menu or other. The combination of flavors and textures is sublime. This recipe makes enough for one large snack, or two small snacks (if you feel like sharing…you might not.) Some people will tell you it’s “not a car snack,” but you don’t have to listen.
